We are incredibly excited to announce that, ahead of the 2026/27 season, University of Surrey and Harlequins Rugby Football Club will be expanding our partnership to include the Men’s Rugby Performance Programme. This follows the success seen in our Women’s programme with promotion to WBSR for the 2026/27 season.
This is a huge step forward for our Men’s Rugby Performance Squad and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the programme. Through this partnership, our players will be exposed to an elite performance environment designed to help them develop, compete, and reach their full potential both on and off the field.
As part of the partnership, players will benefit from:
We are also proud to provide dedicated medical support, on and off the pitch, led by Kirsty Hillier, Team Surrey Medical Lead and herself a former player with Wasps RFC and Harlequins Rugby Football Club.
Alongside this, we are delighted to welcome Richie Williams as our new Head Coach. Richie brings outstanding experience to the programme, having previously coached the Belgium national rugby union team and led Cambridge Rugby Club from National League 2 into the Championship. He is currently Attack Coach at Chinnor Rugby Club, where he has helped guide the club to a top-six Championship finish this season.
This partnership represents a fantastic opportunity for ambitious players who want to train in a professional environment, be challenged to improve every day, and expose themselves to genuine pathways within the game.

We are looking forward to what promises to be an exciting and successful 2026/27 season both on and off the pitch.
