Surrey Dance Squad Takes the Stage at Indigo at The O2

The Surrey Dance Squad kicked off the new academic year in spectacular fashion, taking to the stage at Indigo at The O2 for their biggest performance opportunity to date.

On 10 September, the squad performed at the iconic London venue following an intense three-day creative process. Working alongside an Emmy Award-winning Creative Director, an award-winning vocal group and another university dance society, the dancers came together to create and rehearse a 10-minute set.

The experience gave members the chance to see first-hand what goes into producing a professional live performance. From intensive rehearsals and choreography sessions to technical runs and the final performance, the squad experienced every stage of the production process.

Working alongside dancers, musicians, stage crew and creative professionals also challenged the group to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively and perform under pressure, developing skills that extended well beyond the dance studio.

For Surrey Dance Squad, the opportunity represented an exciting step outside the university environment and a chance for members to build their confidence while performing on one of London's most recognisable stages.

The achievement was made even more impressive by the short turnaround, with the entire performance coming together in just three days thanks to the passion, dedication and commitment of everyone involved.

After such a memorable start to the year, Surrey Dance Squad are looking forward to continuing to challenge themselves, embrace new opportunities and create more unforgettable experiences for their members throughout the year.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved!
