Team Surrey Stories: Giselle Burnett Selected for English Universities Netball Squad.

A huge congratulations to Team Surrey Dual Career Athlete Giselle Burnett who has been selected for the English Universities Netball squad. Over the weekend they competed against the Northern Ireland senior team.

We caught up with Giselle and she had this to say:

"I am pleased to have been selected into the Netball English Universities squad for the 2025/26 season, which is a team of athletes selected across all the Universities in England.

I will be completing this alongside Representing London Pulse in the NXT Gen league this year again, playing club netball for Downs in Premier League 1, the highest club level netball in the country, and playing for the University 1st team while being a dual career athlete. This allows me to consistently be exposed to high level play and to continue developing as an elite athlete".

Megan Haine (Performance Sport Coordinator) also said "We are proud to see Giselle representing English Universities over in Northern Ireland. It is great to see the hard work she puts in at Surrey Sports Park paying off on such a big stage. We look forward to continuing to support her throughout the rest of the season through the dual career programme."
